VINTAGE SEWING PATTERN SIZING:
One of the most important things to remember is never buy a vintage
pattern according to it's size number. Over time, clothing companies have made the clothes bigger and the size numbers smaller.
The best idea is to buy the size of pattern that will fit in the most difficult to fit area. This is usually the size that corresponds to bust measurement.
There is a difference between how clothes are worn today as compared to how vintage clothing was worn. Most ladies today don't wear the foundation garments such as girdles or bras that give the
perfect conical shape like in the 1950's or 60's.
Patterns from that era are fitted for ladies wearing those garments.
It is recommended to know your body measurements with and without foundation garments. Bust measurements can change with bra styles so it is important to know what will be worn underneath the finished vintage garment.

Every pattern on this site has been checked to ensure that it is complete. Most of the vintage patterns you will find here have the instruction sheets included. If there are any missing pieces or the instruction sheet is not included that information will be included on the pattern description.
A NOTE REGARDING PATTERN CONDITION:
Please remember that the patterns on this site are vintage patterns. I have no idea what conditions they were exposed to before coming into my possession. The envelops may have wear including tears, rips, small marks, discoloration etc. The pieces may have small rips, old tape on them, missing pieces, etc. If the pattern is badly damaged or has any missing pieces that information will be noted in the pattern description.
