Girls Fashions During The 1950's:
Plain, prim and pure was the overall look for boys and girls of the 1950s.
Children were expected to appear as they just walked out of a storybook or a painting by Norman Rockwell. Little or no consideration was given to the nature of a child, which includes rolling in the dirt, frolicking in the grass or catching tadpoles in the stream.
Fashion staples for girls included knee-length skirts, crew socks and lace shoes or T-strap sandals. fresh hair ribbons were another daily staple.
We carry children's patterns from all the major manufacturers:
Vintage Simplicity Patterns, Vintage McCalls Patterns, Vintage Butterick Patterns, Vintage Vogue Patterns, Vintage Advance Patterns, Vintage Du Barry Patterns, plus ot her pattern manufacturers.
Is This Pattern Not The Correct Size? There are many websites on the internet that give detailed instructions on how to resize a vintage pattern. By using the easy resizing instructions this pattern can be made to the size needed.
